In 1987, Vreni and Rolf Hächler were able to acquire Werner Schneiter's boatyard in Oberhofen and founded Hächler Bootbau AG. The company was continuously expanded and modernized.

Another milestone in the company's history is the takeover of the Müller AG yacht and boat yard in Einen in 2008. On January 1, 2015, the two shipyards merged and since then the company has been active under the name Hächler Bootbau AG at the locations in Einen and Oberhofen.

In January 2020, the next generation took over the helm. Brothers Rico Hächler (boat builder and technical clerk) and Luca Hächler (boat specialist with a trade diploma) now run the shipyard.
